Come join the Polly Klaas Theater's FREE Family Movie Night. This Month we bring you an amazing classic where Ralph Machio learns expert karate skills from Mr. Miyagi in order to stand up to his bullies. Popcorn is also free this month and beverages will be available for purchase. No tickets necessary. Hope to see you there!
Date: August 14th Time: 7:30 Every month there is a theme, hopefully that sparks a memory for you. You put your name in a hat (an actual hat!) and 10 people’s names are drawn at random. When your name is pulled you get 5 minutes to tell your personal true story. At the end of the evening everyone votes by text for their favorite story of the night. If that’s you, you get $50 and will join the other monthly winners in December for our GrandSlam at the Historic Mystic Theater. Sounds like fun, right? Evie writes clever lyrics with mature arrangements, calls rowdy square dances for urban crowds, choreographs new body music/percussive dance for contemporary dance and film, leads seminars in movement anthropology, rocks straight up old time clawhammer banjo, and gardens, from the vibrant home base of Oakland, California. She’s won ribbons and arts fellowships, performed in sold out concert halls and cozy living rooms, and toured around the world, to every state in the US except Florida. She’s never been to Florida.“The best example I have seen of a Neo-Trad band's sound being authentically anchored in old time music but extending it into new and entertaining directions.” —Founder, Clifftop Appalachian Stringband Festival Arts Alive is a free and family friendly event, concessions will be sold and all […]
