December 3rd, 2023 - 3PM-5PM Six months after the launch of Place Matters, a constellation of speaker series on everything from design to gastronomy to regional science, we pause to reflect on our conception of place and what we have learned, imagined, and clarified about belonging to and living in this community. Until now, our structure has consisted of three spokes: Life by Design, Makers Among Us and Sonoma Science. Together, these monthly gatherings have helped to trace geographies and topographies of natural and built environments and have prompted us to consider (and expand) our definitions of place. Now we bring the threads together. Considering Place gathers makers, designers and scientists in one single event in hopes of finding patterns, connections, and a bit of the unexpected.
