Following in the footsteps in her family lineage of musicians and dancers, Maria began dancing when she was seven years old. Maria has been teaching, performing, and touring internationally since 2006. AMADOU CAMARA is a Djembefola, a master drummer from Guinea West Africa. Hailing from the Baga people, he started drumming when he was a young child. Amadou and his brother joined Le Ballet National Djoliba founded by Sekou Toure’, Guinea’s first president after Independence. Ballet Djoliba recruited the best artists of Guinea to represent and promote Guinean culture internationally and toured across Africa and Europe.

MARCH 16 From 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM In support of the Arts Alive program to connect, promote and celebrate Petaluma's vibrant arts community, O'Brien Center of the Arts and the Polly Klaas Community Theater are thrilled to be a part of next March's city-wide art experience. Dancers will bring to life paintings on display, combining art, music and dance during an evening of other artists sharing their love of art around town. This is a FREE program thanks to an Arts Alive collaboration between Art-a-Luma, O'Brien Center for the Arts and the Polly Klaas Community Theater. Doors will open at 6PM / seating Capacity is 92. The first 92 to arrive may be seated, we have overflow standing room for about 20 in the back. We hope to see you there!

MARCH 18, 2023  1:30 PM and 3:00 PM O’Brien Center of the Arts welcomes Spring with a dancing Enchanted Garden of colorful flowers, butterflies, bumblebees, birds and more!  Follow Gwendolyn the Gardener and her Ladybug as they celebrate the new season.  The studio continues to promote their “Pollinate Petaluma” goals by selling customized packets of seeds for everyone to spread in their gardens to save the bees and butterflies.  Beautiful cut flowers, baked treats and the seeds will be on sale before and between the shows.
